Ina Gilmore, M.D. is The Knitting Dr.
An avid knitter, she taught herself to knit from a book at age 8. Being a somewhat <ahem> independent child, she didn’t ask for help. Only years later when she graduated to circular knitting did she realize she’d taught herself a new knitting method, which she still sometimes uses.
She now knits and creates her own designs. She’s also a freelance writer.
She believes that knitting, quilting, crochet and other crafts are an expression of your soul and excellent ways to relax and reduce stress.
Her philosophy of crafts is there is no “wrong way.” If it looks okay and works for you, it’s right. As a teacher, Dr. Ina is interested in showing you other ways to do things, and you are free to try them…or not.
The Knitting Yarn is a way to connect with other crafters and help them find that “In the rhythm of the needles, there is music for the soul.”
